The pipe manifold seems to make water run uphill. It is simply physics at work. Piping can connect instead to a wash box which contains the same debris screening process. A house with many downspouts can be fed through one dual-port wash box. The wash box contains a larger and removable nylon screen, has connects for two 4-inch pipes, and can be tank mounted. Both flow- through devices continue to screen the rain as the bulk of matter gets moved from roof and gutters by heavier rainfall. The storage tank is vented and fitted so that water fills to the top level then overflows. Tanks must always be set on a level, stable surface. A retained sand or concrete pad works well, as does partial burial. |

Stored rain gets pulled from the
outlet near the tank bottom by a pressure or transfer pump. A pressure tank/switch operates with a pump/check valve each time a drawdown amount of water is delivered through the line. Finishing to crystal clarity is the high-tech system portion. A two-stage micron filter section, ultraviolet purifier and a solid charcoal element are all plumbed in-line for drinking quality H2O. |
